401(k)/IRAs
What should I do with an old 401(k) after leaving a job?
You generally have a few options when you leave an employer:
• Leave the assets in your former employer’s plan (if allowed)
• Roll over to an IRA
• Roll over into a new employer’s plan if available
• Take a distribution (may have tax implications)
Each option has different considerations depending on your goals, fees, and investment options. If you’d like help reviewing what makes the most sense for your situation, we’re happy to talk through it with you.

When can I retire based on my savings?
Retirement timing depends on several factors, including your savings, expected expenses, Social Security strategy, and overall investment plan. A good starting point is estimating the income you will need in retirement factoring in inflation, taxes, healthcare, etc. and comparing that to your current progress toward that goal. From there, we can evaluate annually whether you are on track or if adjustments may be needed.
